The Unorganized Poetic Mind
I wish the weight of these letters
to be as heavy as a ton of feathers
floating down upon succulent ears
The world is filled with sick people
Don't linger on this idea too long though
Because we all have a different dormant disease
Everyone inhabits uniquely identical boxes
Live barley understanding how another person's life is
Staring indifferently at 3,000 ads a day
Big noises in cities that never rest for a second
How can I think straight, talk straight, when everyone beckons
Even in silence people still have a gravitational pull
I never liked the desert
Thought it was sand's braggart
Until I saw in it the Similarities between you and I
At 3 am i ripped the batteries out of my clock
Because the beating of my heart matched the tick tock
And it felt like there was a timer on my life
After a year when we kissed it was nothing like fireworks
More like soft worn T-shirts
And once again you smelled like pb&j
As a child my best friend was a dog
She never ignored me when I would talk
Maybe that's why I didn't like cats till I turned 18
In middle school clarinet class I had my first spark of confidence
I lied directly to my teachers face and got clearance
Otherwise I would have sat with xylophone girl in detention
In the grocery store with 3 dollars in my pocket
You left me yesterday and i hate big business economics
Because I'm too poor to buy a sandwich that reminds me of you
I hate 3 because of 3,000 ads that stupid 3am and only 3 dollars I had
I like 2 because of me and my dog, me and him and this paper and pad
No wonder math is the subject I despise
Like a telescope to the stars
A microscope to atoms charge
The eyes of a poet beam intensely
This creation is my expression
Lets hope it increases your perception
Of the world through kaleidoscope senses
My hands paint a scattered picture
Some think "oh how can we fix her?"
But I'm too far gone to come down now
And even if I wasn't
I happily live the childhood ruckus
Because to me the ground is still lava
And you there, the conformist, are unaware that you are melting
to be as heavy as a ton of feathers
floating down upon succulent ears
The world is filled with sick people
Don't linger on this idea too long though
