My Thunder
You’ve never, you’ve never
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late
I cried and tried to pound my fists
Upon your back in a storm of rage
And you never said anything, neither did I
Do you hear the drums now
So loud, so loud and all around
I swear you have to hear them now
You’ve never, you’ve never
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late
I opened my hands and tried to open yours
Put them together, mixing veins and lines
And you never looked in to my eyes, while I stared into yours
Do you see the water now
So hard, so hard falling all around
I need to know that you see it now
You’ve never, you’ve never
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late
I whispered through your silent screaming
Into your ears, and I gave you all my past, my sins
Do you hear me now
Shouting and singing with all my might
So many words, those words piercing the night
I have to know that you’ve caught my words
You’ve never, you’ve never
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late
I stomp my feet in the cold
Upon this floor where we both can’t stand now
And you beg of me, won’t you come and don’t say a word
Do you speak from pain or from love
So much pain, as you say you’re more alive
I am too hurt to see your new truth
Because
You’ve never, you’ve never
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late
I cried and tried to pound my fists
Upon your back in a storm of rage
And you never said anything, neither did I
Do you hear the drums now
So loud, so loud and all around
I swear you have to hear them now
You’ve never, you’ve never
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late
I opened my hands and tried to open yours
Put them together, mixing veins and lines
And you never looked in to my eyes, while I stared into yours
Do you see the water now

I need to know that you see it now
You’ve never, you’ve never
Heard my thunder
Until yesterday, and yesterday was far too late

Into your ears, and I gave you all my past, my sins
Do you hear me now
