anvil
Looking for a reprieve,
But being held against your will.
Bound by the desires of the heart,
That occupy the empty space you're trying to fill.
(chorus)
You're killing yourself,
But refuse to believe.
That the anvil you hold in your hand,
Is a temporary remedy.
Looking for a way out,
But too blind to see.
You get tangled up in the chains that bind you to your misery.
Confused,
You try and understand.
You believe,
The answer is the anvil you hold in your hand.
Swallow it down,
Take the pain.
Taste the guilt,
As the anvil crushes you again.
(chorus)
You're killing yourself,
But refuse to believe.
The anvil you hold in your hand,
Is a temporary remedy.
Looking for a way out,

Taste the guilt,
As the anvil crushes you again
But being held against your will.
