Great Loss
I once sat homeless on a park bench
Feeling the pain of great loss
Knowing what I did right and what I did wrong
And the sadness both have brought
In my hungry mind I kept thinking
Where did I go wrong
I sat again on that same bench another day
Feeling the same pain of great loss
Losing my love and the loves that went with her
Knowing I should have stood up to the wind
And told it to stop
Only to become a victim to its gale
And be blown away
I have recent been back together with my love
And the loves she brought back to my life
Now we share a home and love and family
And I've told the wind to stop
But sometimes I sit on the swing that's outside
Still feeling the pain of great loss
Feeling the pain of great loss
Knowing what I did right and what I did wrong
And the sadness both have brought
In my hungry mind I kept thinking
Where did I go wrong
I sat again on that same bench another day
Feeling the same pain of great loss
Losing my love and the loves that went with her
Knowing I should have stood up to the wind
And told it to stop
Only to become a victim to its gale
And be blown away
I have recent been back together with my love
And the loves she brought back to my life
Now we share a home and love and family
And I've told the wind to stop
But sometimes I sit on the swing that's outside
Still feeling the pain of great loss
