In Your Head
The way your barbed tongue speaks
Of your soapbox imposed misery
Shadow traced onto a life that’s not yours
Pulling me down and under
How much carnage through you’ll blunder?
Don’t let the light filter through your hate
Turn and march heavily away
You won’t smile the smile that’s needed,
Let alone do what’s right
keeping your spiteful heart awake at night.
It’s in your head, all in your head
With your disjointed point of view
You’re pushing with all your might
The moment I leave, we’re through...
You’ll only have your own mind left to screw...
You’ll only have your own mind left to screw.
What a crying shame this dark game you play
Will ultimately leave you bereft
Lonely, old and frail
Maybe martyring yourself feels good,
because fucked if anyone else could.
It’s in your head, all in your head
With your disjointed point of view
You’re pushing with all your might
The moment I leave, we’re through...
You’ll only have your own mind left to screw...
You’ll only have your own mind left to screw.
There’s just no getting through to you.
Of your soapbox imposed misery
Shadow traced onto a life that’s not yours
Pulling me down and under
How much carnage through you’ll blunder?
Don’t let the light filter through your hate
Turn and march heavily away
You won’t smile the smile that’s needed,
Let alone do what’s right
keeping your spiteful heart awake at night.
It’s in your head, all in your head
