Just Sad Clowns
I know it's just a mask you wear
So all the neighbors won't stare
What's another rose colored view?
Nothing ever changes around you
Everyday painting that same smile
Your face a canvas of cheap denial
Everyone's a clown
In every single town
Smiles over frowns
Tears falling down
Everyone's a clown
What a sad sound
Everyone's a clown
You're all just wandering around blind
Not realizing that you're wasting time
We're pawns of an unfortunate game
Behind the mask is it more of the same?
What's after you've given your best?
After so much struggle, what's left?
What's the point of it all anyway?
The clock keeps ticking life away
Because everyone's a clown
In every single town
Smiles over frowns
Tears falling down
Everyone's a clown
Listen to the sound
Everyone's a clown
Behind my smile is a familiar scar
A sign of when I pushed too hard
And I know that you have some too
We've all had shit we've been through
But still we put up these battle walls
So people can't hear our broken calls
Anything to hide how weak we feel
But if you bottle it, it will never heal
Yeah, everyone's a clown
In every single town
Smiles painted over frowns
With tears falling down
Everyone's a clown
Such a sad sound
That everyone's a clown
