I can see you there in the dark
It's an image too hard to comprehend
Yet I know we're both still friends

I can see you still in the dark
I wonder how we got here
Right where we both feared

I can see you alone in the dark
Life is always testing me
I wish it would restrain and set me free

But we're both here in the dark
And I know we'll never get out
Circumstances have confirmed my earlier doubts

We're forever here in the dark
I guess it's something we have both accepted
