All a Lie
the bathroom door is locked for the third time, today
the shower runs but they know not what to say
they can't hear what she's doing, when they're not around
they can't see how she's hurting when she puts her head down
she no longer smiles or looks them in the eye...
It's all a lie-
every whisper that she listens to
she tries to deny that she is broken, but she doesn't know what to do
the voices, they control her brain
she's not herself, she's not the same
distracted by indifference, pretending to be well
everything to lose, nothing to gain
self-confidence just wastes away, as she once again kneels to forget the pain...
It's all a lie, but she believes it everday.
her bedroom door is closed as she tries to hide, shame
loud music plays but there's nothing they can say
they can't hear her heart breaking, or see her on the ground
they can't help her get better, when she refuses to listen now
she doesn't laugh, has lost all meaning in her life...
It's all a lie-
every whisper that she listens to
she tries to deny that she is broken, but she doesn't know what to do
the voices, they control her brain
she's not herself, she's not the same
distracted by indifference, pretending to be well
everything to lose, nothing to gain
self-confidence just wastes away, as she once again kneels to forget the pain...
It's all a lie, but she believes it everday.
Is there any point to this endless game?
back and forth she stumbles again
trying to discern truth from her predicament
but then the voices, they jump in
to "save" her, mascarading as her only friends
It's all a lie, she no longer yearns to listen
she tries to fight, but they keep on calling-
all the lies...
