Not to be a permanent guest

In finding his way out of this immense labyrinth
Coming to the same dead ends, he marked walls
Only one exit, a doorway where all the fools enter
Lured in by their dark distorted sense of adventure
Some passages dimly lit while others are pitch black
A Gorgon hostess, little haunted by stone faced ghosts
All those who found a deadly calm in her petrifying eyes

Trapped in there, he would rather die of starvation
As her stone cold glare cannot hold a dead man's stare
Moldering bones have no place among her trophy statuary
A departed soul never to be confined to her maze-like halls
His demise is quite certain if a timely escape is not possible
Finding the way out or a hidden place to die, his only options
Rather than share her company while forever turned to stone

He crept through her decorated lair while she slept
In deep sleep, the Gorgon's face was inhumanly beautiful
If awakened, he knew those black orbs would hold him fast
While gazing at those full red lips and every curve of her body
Dreadful locks, hundreds of small extremely colorful sleeping vipers
Although motionless in sleep, their beady lidless eyes can still see
Yet they cannot distinguish if he is indeed real or a reptilian's dream

With a tremendous effort, he pulled himself away
From the dense cluster of stone figures forever ogling her
All having made the fatal mistake of staring at her far too long
Stealthily backing away, grimly wondering if their deaths were slow
Some undressed, their erect penises like carved stone phallic symbols
Stained by constant use, cold, but always stiff for her personal pleasure
Backing away, keeping his eyes on the Gorgon, he sees her begin to stir
