Steady Daydreaming

Love had pulled her back to Earth every time.
What happened to her eyes? They no longer shined.
One day she would be so happy that she was stuck in space.
The next she realized her dreams were just an endless chase.

She knew exactly what was true.
She just didn't know what to do.
She didn't know how she could just walk away.
There were still so many things she wished to say.

She didn't know how to express her strong feelings.
Her heart and mind always sucked at dealing.
They were trying to compromise.
Time to stop dreaming, just arise.

Everyone told her to stop being a stupid girl.
This just made her want it even more.
She wanted to show everyone that she had something special.
To her it felt as if it was completely unconditional.

What if this all wasn't what it seemed?
What if it's nothing more than a dream?
What if he isn't even real?
They'll never be surreal.

Everyone is laughing at her.
What is he holding on for?
She knew how guys were.
Just stop, you stupid girl.

Stop making it out to be a fairy tale.
You made a mistake when you fell.
Why didn't she listen to her mind?
She knew the truth was never kind.

She just continued down the wrong path.
How long did she really think it would last?
She knew that he needed a little bit more.
Why wouldn't she just close this door?

Changes are always scary.
She would fly away if she were a fairy.
Damn it! She couldn't get her head out of the clouds.
Her mind made it to where reality wasn't allowed.

She tried to come back to Earth to live her life.
She knew that he couldn't forever hide.
Why pretend and tell another senseless lie?
Just go back to space and tell the Earth goodbye.
