My Regret
My only regret
in life
is not to fight
for my freedom,
for my country,
for my brothers.
Why should I stay
at home
in safety
when the bombs are
dropping
and my brothers are
fighting.
My only regret
is for not trying,
to be a soldier,
a hero,
a better person,
a better man.
My only regret
is for not trying.
To be tested,
to be put on trial,
to know what I am
made of.
Am I strong?
Am I brave?
Will I break?
Stones are strong
but they will eventually
crack.
Steel is strong
but it will buckle
under pressure.
My only regret
in life
is not knowing
what I'm made of.
My only regret
in life
is not testing
my steel
and not knowing my merit.
in life
is not to fight
for my freedom,
for my country,
for my brothers.
Why should I stay
at home
in safety
when the bombs are
dropping
and my brothers are
fighting.
My only regret
is for not trying,
to be a soldier,
a hero,
a better person,
a better man.
My only regret
is for not trying.
To be tested,
to be put on trial,
to know what I am
made of.
Am I strong?
Am I brave?
Will I break?
Stones are strong
but they will eventually
crack.
Steel is strong
but it will buckle
under pressure.
My only regret
in life
is not knowing
what I'm made of.
My only regret
in life
is not testing
my steel
and not knowing my merit.
