Creationism
In the beginning, God created the Heaven and the Earth
On the second day, God created man
On the third day, God created religion
As a result
On the fourth day, God created ignorance
On the fifth day, arrogance
On the sixth day came war
And on the seventh day, he rested
Pleased with his work.
Malicious men march
Religious banners held high
A sadistic slew of soldiers
The defenceless fall victim
To an unforgiving uniform
Pleas for freedom
Reverberate repeatedly,
“I’m innocent!”
“Please spare me!”
“In the name of God!”
Hail Mary
Full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Shotgun shells
Clink coldly on concrete
Dead bodies lie prostrate
Crucified
Families left destitute
Pray for us sinners.
