Thoughts Lost
This feeling of being lost in thought has overwhelmed my soul,
& never before have I felt this alone
My eyes light up with joy, but my smile widens with regret,
For the pain is what I wish could be seen, but the, empty smiles are what you get
Alone is all I have ever known, and alone I will always be.
I've heard turn to God, but why? Didn't he make me?
Life has handed me more then enough lemons for my lemonade,
Throw in some salted wounds, some faith, and this soul is what was made.
Thoughts constantly traveling to forbidden lands,
Where they constantly lay their forbidden hands
Lost in thought?...
I've always, been lost in thought.

I like this poem because it encapsulates the inner tragedy of being lost in thought: a world that no one else can see and delving deeper without a sense of light to guide you.
