Vindictive

The crowds with hair the height of fancy hats
will tread on sons and daughters donning black,
but those in black, (and those with silk cravats,)
will rebuke any churl with trousers slack.
That boys of blue and girls of leafy green
can command any amber, grey or brown,
to relinquish accessories they glean;
to deposit each bedtime vest and gown.
However, if you have a lip that splits;
with skin that peels in patches and in strips
remember that it is not where you sit
but how you work your lips to sink their ships:
though fashionable it is to be unkind,
the supple fruit will rot beneath the rind.
