rhetorical questions

Who will rise above their life, to become something more?
And who will fade into the memories of forgotten youth?
What is to come of pain and suffering,
but a future of continued affairs?
Where, when we fight back we are only struck down harder.
Are we the products of sadism,
Torturous instruments bred to fuel pain.
Where infliction is our only trade?
Why do we throw fuel on the fire,
that will inevitably lead to our demise?
What is to come of our sacrifice,
But personal gain for the ones that throw us into the fray?
Why do the good receive bad, and the bad receive good?
Why build an empire, when e everything will fade?
And why give your love, when eventually it will wear away?
Why are we made to believe in a god that once fueled the crusades?
And why fall in love, where the only way back up is through pain?


Are these questions rhetorical, or just unanswerable?
Or are we simply.hidden from the truth?
