Deviousity Killed the Cat
Deviousity killed the cat
Stepping over lines they dare not pass
Or on toes that will not break,
Nor will they bend
Do not expect those who choose not to believe
To care or change or budge or be
Although, they will attempt to convert
Yet, cannot state a creed or God
They give no rein to any entity or Beast
There is nothing above, there is nothing below
The largest thing they fathom is the weakest thing I know
Trying to prove a point that will die with them
If I lose, what have I to give?
If we win, they will forfeit their soul
My Father says judge not
He tells me to watch over the innocent
He pleads for us to care about more than ourselves
When we blind the world, our sight will be restored
A table has been prepared for us among our enemies,
Fear, is no longer a guest
Welcoming arms will be thrown
Vengeful arms will be laid
He is the only trust that I know
The rain may pour, but hunger have I not
If ever I thirst, I know I have a place to rest
Stepping over lines they dare not pass
Or on toes that will not break,
Nor will they bend
Do not expect those who choose not to believe
To care or change or budge or be
Although, they will attempt to convert
Yet, cannot state a creed or God
They give no rein to any entity or Beast
There is nothing above, there is nothing below
The largest thing they fathom is the weakest thing I know
Trying to prove a point that will die with them
If I lose, what have I to give?
If we win, they will forfeit their soul
My Father says judge not
He tells me to watch over the innocent
He pleads for us to care about more than ourselves
When we blind the world, our sight will be restored
A table has been prepared for us among our enemies,
Fear, is no longer a guest
Welcoming arms will be thrown
Vengeful arms will be laid
He is the only trust that I know
The rain may pour, but hunger have I not
If ever I thirst, I know I have a place to rest
