Cathedral of Blood and Glass

Face the fear within me, Face the fire raging inside
Face the traitor within me, Face the ice burning inside
Cure the disease within me, Plague my heart with hatred
Cure the indecision within me, Plague my heart with resolve

You are the one, The only, The hope, The monument to self
You are I, One with me, Completing and so deceiving
You are the love, The hate, The peace, The war with self
You or I, One must die, Complete and splitting even

A separate heart, Still you beat within me a bruise worth noticing
A separate soul, Still you chill within me a wasteland worth leaving
A separate life, Still you create within me a death worth savoring
A separate being, Still you live within me, A masterpiece worth preserving

Don't say you need me, Don't say you love me
Don't say you see me, Don't say you feel me
Don't say you’ll hold me, Don't say you’ll kiss me
Don't say you’ll heed me, Don't say you’ll miss me

I wish I could but I can't believe you, My heart is too fragile to hold
A cathedral of blood and glass, Ready to shatter in two thousand pieces
I hate you for believing in me, Your heart is too fragile to hold
A cathedral of warmth and trust, Ready to embrace me for two thousand years
