Such relief that I felt
Knowing the hand that I dealt

My emotions turned to mush

With no response my ego blown

Now it appears I'm in the past
An old friend who didn't last
But something seemed different today
I woke up in a new way

Up on time for once this week
I wasn't grumpy, I felt meek
I ate breakfast, a pleasant change
This day was good but kind of strange

I got to work a tad bit early
