For the Boy
Take some magic dust
Spill the rest
Lose your wishes in the mess
Take your saw
Cut my thread
Chiseled down
But still in your head
I hope I’m still in your head
You were the slaughter
I was the lamb
Unflinching as you placed your hand
Up my skirt
Down my dignity
Sacrificed in the place of your bigotry
You the boy that builds towers
You’re the boy that makes breaks
You’re thee boy that aims for the skyline
But only ends with killing space
Corner me down deep after obliterating all the light
You’ve wasted so much time until the roses turned to night
You once inhaled my smoke
But let go after a breath
You’re chivalry’s on its hospital bed
Missing you to death
Losing words in broken conversation
It’s the awkward pauses you left vacant
You’re the boy that builds rivers
You’re the boy that silently escapes
You’re the boy that blames those sinners
When you should really be in their place
I’d turn on the TV
Though I know the only show airing
Is a playlist you made to get Sympathy swaying
We both know she’s a horrible dancer (so am I)
Turn me into the bar floor
I know you remembered your high heels tonight
Should I become a mirror you’d run right out of afraid
I’m not a liar
You’re just a nonbeliever who forgot loyalty in your haste
You’re the boy that builds Titanic
You’re the boy that learned to waste
You’re the boy that causes panic
Using ammunition to explain
But smiles start fading
I’m sorry’s won’t work
It’s a battlefield of hidden bombs
You deny it
But I lost you first
Spill the rest
Lose your wishes in the mess
Take your saw
Cut my thread
Chiseled down
But still in your head
I hope I’m still in your head
You were the slaughter
