freedom

rippling courts, surging walks
it's endless activity when you live at the docks

my ship is my palace

silverback gorilla in my own flotilla
the captain
the law

impossible to misbehave when the landscape is just waves
constantly moving, unhappy to be still
off into the sunset to do the bidding of my will

i'm running away from something
it's form never revealed
it casts fear and doubt all while remaining concealed

maybe I'm just broken
the seas are wide open
so it's off to a foreign port
to drink and fall in love
splash in island lagoons
skinny dip in moonlit pools
play like fools until it's time to move
lift anchor, set sail to the next place
traveling disgrace, I hide who I really am just to save face

I'm not sure what I'm yearning for but it's calling me to look
so I think I'll be content living on the hook
