Innocence
softest satin bedsheets
the color of wine,
light filtering in
through the cracks
in the blinds
this was the day
I first told you
how I loved you
and you told me
that forever you
would be mine
I had been yours
from the first time
I had locked onto
those deep dark eyes,
you had known
when you saw my
awkward smile
and the way I shifted
my glance toward the floor
how I adored you
and I stuttered the first
words I ever spoke
because with you so close
I could hardly stand
wobbly knees and
shaking hands,
a blush in my cheeks
as the thought
came to me
of what you could do
with those hands,
and when your
work calloused hands
so gently touched my skin,
making a kind of music
never dreamed of
until then
I bent to your whim
lied down and asked
you to take my innocence
on your wine colored
sheets in the light
of a beautful day
the color of wine,
light filtering in
through the cracks
in the blinds
this was the day
I first told you
how I loved you
and you told me
that forever you
would be mine
I had been yours
from the first time
I had locked onto
those deep dark eyes,
you had known
when you saw my
awkward smile
and the way I shifted
my glance toward the floor
how I adored you
and I stuttered the first

because with you so close
I could hardly stand
wobbly knees and
shaking hands,
a blush in my cheeks
as the thought

of what you could do
with those hands,
and when your
work calloused hands
so gently touched my skin,
making a kind of music
never dreamed of
until then
I bent to your whim
lied down and asked
you to take my innocence
on your wine colored
sheets in the light
of a beautful day
