Lost Love Ballad (A Mad Girl Poem)
They loved each other, she and him.
More then sun loved the moon.
Dying ever night, so that she breathe.
They were meant to be.
Stars were not crossed.
And the Gods did not weave their destiny.
From spools of hopes and bitter dreams.
They grew up side by side.
Not looking at each other in any way but one.
Until one day they looked a little harder.
Camera lense adjusted.
Glasses were cleared of fog.
And they saw each other as not as they had always.
But with brand news eyes.
Eyes opened wide.
Teasing words that led to blushing smiles.
And they were in love.
Not one could deny it.
Their feelings, they couldn't hide it.
There was an age difference.
But it was overlooked.
For they were perfect for each other.
Free spirited and a fun.
Meets calm and repose.
Drawn to each other like a honey bee and rose.
But happily ever endings never stay.
Sometimes storybooks fall apart.
And the pages, sadly turn gray.
Evil sometimes wins in the end.
And so the girl felt broken.
As the clock struck midnight.
And the pumpkin was always a pumpkin.
She never made it to the ball.
He waited for her.
But she never came.
She was not good enough for him.
Her tall, dark Superman.
Saving the day.
But he couldn't save her.
From her cruel mother's words.
In this devastating tale.
So she fled from her kingdom.
With a broken heart.
Without an explanation.
Of why she felt less all of a sudden.
Her confidence shattered.
Her blue eyes tear stained.
Her pride broken.
And her mind gone astray.
She married someone else.
And he eventually took a wife as well.
Her husband beat her.
Turning her world into a hell.
He welcomed a son into the world.
The entire time remembering his poor lost love.
The love that he did not realize.
Then or at the time.
That she did not flee.
Because she did not love him.
But because she, herself could not have any children.
Her first marriage fell apart.
Husband in chains.
Paying for his crime that he doth commit.
She fled to other countries in hopes to find new dreams.
Came back married a second time around.
While he and his wife watched their son grow.
Make friends.
Have fun.
Love.
Lose.
And win.
And they loved each other a friends should.
But he did not love her, like his last love did.
For the sun never rose.
And the moon never showed.
Stars fell.
And darkeness rose.
Claimed broken hearts.
And shattered vows.
His wife cheated.
Her husband cheats as well.
He stayed strong for his son.
She got even, Karma claiming that man's life.
For the unfaithful evil he had done.
She left for Europe.
Not wanting to stay long.
Hung up the black attire.
And dressed in white one last time.
Marched down the aisle.
For a third husband.
Maybe a charmed third time?
But more shatter vows did ensue.
His poor lost love.
Knew not what to do.
While he caught his wife.
Cheating once again.
(It is sad, because I call all three of these people my friends.)
But I knew that this man and his wife would not work.
Yes they cared for each other.
But there is a reason that their marriage eventually did fall apart.
Divorce papers were finally written out.
She left for another state.
After he kicked her out.
Karma claimed that third husband's life.
And she left on a trip.
Swallowing her pride.
Taking back her feelings.
And becoming strong again.
She wasn't going to be tricked and fooled by any other man.
And that included that one from so many years ago.
She loved him, never stopped.
The fact that he loved her back, she will never know.
Only I do.
I see through them both.
Love from the beginning.
Loved throughout all time.
Love right now, not even touching each other's lives.
But they love each other, let me tell you.
Their fates since the beginning of time were tied and bound.
Lost love, after so long, it has been found.
More then sun loved the moon.
Dying ever night, so that she breathe.
They were meant to be.
