When my bones have crumbled
Nothing left but dust
When the steel that once was my spine
Is covered in rust
When the rot and the worms
Have eaten their fill
And my useless mind is finally still
Do you think then
I will finally be free
Lost in the nothing
That keeps calling to me
Will i finally get
Some small measure of peace
Will there be any sign
Of relief in the least
Should i be damned then
As i am now
Completely unknowing
As to why or how
This perplexing question
Unsettles my composure
What is going to happen
When my life is finally over?
Nothing left but dust
When the steel that once was my spine
Is covered in rust
When the rot and the worms
Have eaten their fill
And my useless mind is finally still
Do you think then
I will finally be free
Lost in the nothing
That keeps calling to me
Will i finally get
Some small measure of peace
Will there be any sign
Of relief in the least
Should i be damned then
As i am now
Completely unknowing
As to why or how
This perplexing question
Unsettles my composure
What is going to happen
When my life is finally over?
