Religion is a gun

Lots of people in my neighbourhood have one
They keep it locked away until they bring it out to play
With the other strange folk who love their guns
Levitating past food chains that lead to sal(i)vation
But in most places
It’s shoved in people’s faces
Like look at mine drop yours
I just fired embrace its warmth
or brace for war because
In most places guns are used to steal more guns guns are used to kill
They are shoved in woman’s faces for rape and general enslavement
Religion, gun
one in the same
And they will always run the game
Psychopaths that call the kettle black
Raise the tax to make laser tanks
You ask so righteously
Where’s the fight in me?

Call me crazy I don’t think a god fucking helps
Maybe he helps you but that’s fucking selfish
You’re not fucking helpless
I should start to preach out on the streets peddling my disbelief
Yelling opinions not letting you finish I’ll make you bear witness
To yourself, you’re not fucking helpless
Don’t mistake existence with a soul
Let’s look at things on the whole
History shines a sword
and an even sharper pen
don’t hold either or
up against my head
