I see past your drawn on smile
Through the diversions and denial
I see demons clinging to your back
You need help but never ask
I know the anger you hold inside
I have my own beneath my hide
You suffer alone in silent remorse
Hiding an inferno of such great force
Your mind turning thoughts into ashes
Raindrops of sorrow kiss black lashes
Anger barrels out in full flush
The words on idle lips hush
Thoughts inside your head clash
As you try not to be violent or rash
Darkness appears riding a black steed
Enters your body through any means
Stamping it's hooves until you bleed
Devours your soul with it's constant need
The darkness inside is evil indeed
Plants in your heart a hopeless seed
Fills your sleep with nightmarish dreams
Tears you apart like a doll at the seams
Your pain is brutal and unmoving
You never speak of things you're doing
You cover it with a blanket of lies
Hide the cost of your disguise
The wall inside will start to crumble
Your egotistical mind will be humbled
Emotions will begin to trickle out
Of a heart heavy with self doubt
Though your back aches with loneliness
You would never hint or digress
You never whimper or complain
But even you can't escape the pain
