I'M SO AMAZED
I'M SO AMAZED
It was cold on a wet windy morning and glad I arrived in my car
A few people from different places discussing who pays at the bar
Ladies were pretty as always and gents wearing suits like they do
Family, friends and some workmates and two little girls dressed in blue
The loyalty people were showing to attend this important event
It sure was a pleasure to witness togetherness as it was meant
The local harriers ran it to the church to raise some more cash
But the fishing club lads were going on a trip so had to quickly dash
We all arrived on time and I was first to go inside
The music played ‘When the Train Comes In’ a song by Charlie Pride
In poignancy fathers were silent and mothers were all full of tears
Innocent restless toddlers yawning and pulling their ears
A ‘Humanist’ spoke of tributes to the person now deceased
Of amazing health and coveted wealth from property he had leased
Then finally came a speaker who had known him all her life
Her spirit steeled by loyalty she was his loving wife
From a few short notes she’d written to remind her of the years
She looked upon my coffin with her face all stained with tears
I stood next to her shoulder from in my spirit form
She touched the coffin lovingly from whence my spirit born
I see the world quite differently as my spirit is now raised
From all perspectives I can say that I am so amazed
