The Sea
The Sea! The Sea! of rolling dreams beats on the brightened shore,
And as I look into this rook of dreams I still want more.
I listen for a voice and bring unto my tiny ear,
The shell of crested open wave and this is what I hear
Come in! come in! from land to dream I wonder if you could.
But as I hear a different voice I ponder if I should,
Indifferent voice of danger lurks into the voided mind,
And though I try and reason with a durst is all I find.
The echo tempts with chores and tips of powering detail,
But as the durst went on and on I readied for a sail.
I listened to the voice of dream, then I abruptly turned and run,
I am! I am! the dreamy child who wants to touch the sun.
