Modern HipHop Is Shit
Radio on "Top HipHop Hits"
Amazed how most of it is shit
Same focus, just rewritten
Of the things with which they're smitten
On how much "dat booty bounce"
How fast cats in the club pounce
"Pimped out" with diamonds and dollas
Petty little boys "tryna holla"
Rap music on the radio ain't on the real
But repetitive catchy beats always seem to sell
To a generation that loves autotune and pop
That go crazy when a new 2chainz album drops
The flashy perks are just a distraction
From the clearly diluted musical passion
All the glittering gold and twerking hoes
Ain't shit compared to real music though
I'd rather hear about another Eminem or Tupac
Than to hear how well a hoe sucks black cock
I'd rather hear a real man rapping real talk
Like ole bluesy Everlast, about the harder walk
About real life on the cold streets
Not how many hoes are in yo' sheets
Not the bragging about getting crack and weed
How the hood makes it hard when you have mouths to feed
I want to hear from folks who've lived the hard way
Not spoiled rich brats just in it to get paid
I want to see a real man or woman stay authentic
Not go mainstream like Drake, Minaj, and Ludacris
Yes, the club needs some party music
But the repetitive theme makes me sick
No, I ain't "about that fast life"
Excuse me if I prefer to be the kind you wanna wife
I like to dance sexy as much as the next chick
But I'm tired of hearing about "jump on this dick"
Put out some real music, then we might talk
Nah, just kidding, I'm good with the underground walk
I can find better rappers and musicians
On places like YouTube in pleading positions
They have the talent, they have the passion
But no, media wants a piece of ass or dick for distraction
On that note, can someone direct me to some good "not so well known" rappers? All I ever hear about is what's mainstream. Anyone got people that rap about real things... In a way that's not complete shit? In return for anyone's answers, may I recommend my buddy Statiix? YouTube. Check him out.
