THE BEDTIME DANCE

THE BEDTIME DANCE
Lying here in a darkened room…
Words are plenty but without a tune
Breathing deeply and meditation…
Exercise and medication

Restless legs and my brain is spinning…
The nightly battle is just beginning
Tomorrow is not another day…
It’s here and now and won’t go away

Tossing and turning emotions burning…
A peaceful night is what I’m yearning
Cars and dogs keep me awake…
Just let me sleep for heaven’s sake

Another day will be here soon…
My eyes are fixed upon the moon
Through the curtain space I see…
The moonlight shining over me

All this stuff inside my head…
Should disappear when I’m in bed
But slowly as it starts to seep…
At last maybe I’ll go to sleep
