One in the same

Initially bonded by a shared affliction
a mutual understanding
of a mental condition
Each of us having fought
the same battle and
faced similar demons

There is an unparalleled
comfort  to
just "knowing"
without having to explain
No fear of judgement
slightly less shame

One thing in common
led to many more
awakening intrigue
behind  an unopened door
but different paths we are on
and that line we do not cross

Though it seems as of late
another bond has formed
The curse of being
a stepping stone
unable  to find another
with enough devotion as our own

So for now we share stories
of how we long to find the one
Were it not for the miles
between us
I wonder if we might
call the same house a home
