It's not easy
being that girl
that is so easily replaced
Living in a shadow
Always coming in second
to an addiction
an obsession
a hobby
money
objects
a distraction
friends who are
better well matched

I always fall in love
with men
who can't give me
Or won't give me
what I need, desire and crave
to my core
To be a priority in someone's life
to truly be
and feel important

For once I'd like to not be tossed aside
When the going gets tough
Abandoned
Ran from
when I feel lonely and insecure
forgotten about
when I'm not needed

Is there a man that would fight for me
fight for our love
hopes and dreams
Work for something
worth having
worth saving

I think Its asking too much
Nonetheless
