Pretty Little Dollies

Pretty little dollies
With pretty button eyes
Stuffed and sewn and patched
With pretty little lies

Porcelain and plastic
See how bright they shine
Their smiles painted on
In pretty little lines

See how they sit
Upon their dusty shelf
Keeping pretty little secrets
To their pretty little selves

In the dark they whisper
Quiet as a mouse
Hop on down
And play at life
In their pretty little house

In pretty little clothes
They dress themselves so nice
Playing out their pretty lies
In their charade of life

Do they mock us
Or do we mime them?
As we paint masks
Upon our face
And struggle to fit in

Like pretty little dollies
With pretty button eyes
Set all in our pretty ways
Living out our pretty lies
