What if it rains?
A stones embrace
takes a life to learn the hard way
fit your nooks to its notches
let your fingers caress the gentlest words
softly
always
names are fragile things
they float away on sighs
unless hitched tight
to a well hidden catch inside a voice
find the words that chase the sleep away
count the cracks
hope whatever makes them
stays at bay for longer this time
just hold on
but not too tight
even stones crumble under that kind of weight
rest your cheek on the fire side
when you feel it in your bones
but please don't let it lean
because they say
that stones fall
if you don't let them dry
takes a life to learn the hard way
fit your nooks to its notches
let your fingers caress the gentlest words
softly
always
names are fragile things
they float away on sighs
unless hitched tight
to a well hidden catch inside a voice
find the words that chase the sleep away
count the cracks
hope whatever makes them
stays at bay for longer this time
just hold on
but not too tight
even stones crumble under that kind of weight
rest your cheek on the fire side
when you feel it in your bones
but please don't let it lean
because they say
that stones fall
if you don't let them dry
