Early morning
I watched the sun ascend a clear sky
While my body stood shrouded by the frosty breeze
I witnessed a blood red orb turn the sky to fire
And beheld my namesake
Kaulakua
The Red Dawn
Suffering that little death once again
Of beauty, luscious and sweet
All consuming in its wonder
Awe inspiring in its glory
Losing myself in those minutes when the moon cedes way to the sun's rebirth

Beautiful, I love it! The last stanza is my favorite :) The only critique I can give is I think lucious is spelled "luscious". Other then that, this is awesome! :) Thank you for sharing!

In Hawaiian Kaulakua means The Red Dawn and it's my middle name. I was fortunate enough to see my first red sunrise camping one summer when the sun rose the color of blood and fire off the horizon...it's a memory never to be forgotten.
