THE DAY WE MET

Within
Flocks and flocks
But beauty lied
In the eyes of the beholder
This was not a lie
A crime was committed
She stole my heart

A festivity within a festival
I found a book to read
Letters to juggle around
To give birth to words spelled
Like pieces of scrambled eggs
I scrabbled
Lust
Often
Vanishes
Entirely
Yearning
Over
Undying love

I scrambled
Over steep slopes
On thin unknotted ropes
Till they snapped
And I landed safely
In your cushioned arms
You caught me
Embraced me
And soothed all the pains
Of my trials and tribulations away

The day we met
Within
Flocks and flocks
Your mother
Shared labour pains with mine
Your brother became my kindred
Your sister my next of kin
As you became entirely mine
Few days after the day we met
And so you are mine
