I miss you my trusty friend
You were there when no one cared
You gave me the release I needed
When life got too much you were all I needed.
I was told to get rid of you,
That it was a good thing to do.
That you were bad for me
Because you made me bleed.
You were the cold "shoulder" to cry on
I felt so lost when you were gone
I found a replacing pastime
But it wasn't the same.
After I finally moved on
Forgetting you were long gone,
But you came back for me
You're more beautiful since I've last seen.
I've asked for you recently
Cause no one would listen to me
No one would understand the pain
Of living with the shame.
Now I see you're back
But this time you're not black
You're pure and clean and new
And far sharper too.
I'd like our relationship to go far
You twinkle like a shiny star
You were there when no one cared
You gave me the release I needed
When life got too much you were all I needed.
I was told to get rid of you,
That it was a good thing to do.
That you were bad for me
Because you made me bleed.
You were the cold "shoulder" to cry on
I felt so lost when you were gone
I found a replacing pastime
But it wasn't the same.
After I finally moved on
Forgetting you were long gone,
But you came back for me
You're more beautiful since I've last seen.
I've asked for you recently
Cause no one would listen to me
No one would understand the pain
Of living with the shame.
Now I see you're back
But this time you're not black
You're pure and clean and new
And far sharper too.
I'd like our relationship to go far
You twinkle like a shiny star
