Fallen
I flung myself off the cliff,
thinking I had wings strong enough to fly
The sun misleading, and suspended I
Breathed the air of the gods,
But I fell and fell and I couldn't stop
I crashed
hard
And lay broken
On the rock face
Until my pieces reattached
To a skeleton expired
I staggered away,
A different being
thinking I had wings strong enough to fly
The sun misleading, and suspended I
Breathed the air of the gods,
But I fell and fell and I couldn't stop
I crashed
hard
And lay broken
On the rock face
Until my pieces reattached
To a skeleton expired
I staggered away,
A different being
