Unholy Transformation
Beneath the mask, A scar clings to its maker
Above the eye, It reaches the rotten teeth
Grey in nature, But blackened by time
It still bleeds in me, It’s bleeding through cloth
I pray to replace my eyes with diamonds of clarity
For I once laid eyes on my savior, And have been blind ever since
I pray to replace my heart with a stone of purity
For I once laid my soul on the ground, And have been dead ever since
The ground gave way, The ground you promised was strong
I lost my way, I lost my face, Replaced by a uniform of unholy proportions
The faith waned away, The faith you promised was wrong
I faded away, I faced away, Replaced by a hologram of unholy intentions
This life wasn’t given away, It was taken
I never conceded, I was forced to my knees
And as I fought back with every breath
The world caved in around me
Never again will you know my face, Never again will you know my love
I was transformed by fire and metal, A surgery performed by hands unknown
You led the way to my execution, Apologizing for years though I knew naught
Your intentions were pure, You swear, But I fear you knew my life would be taken
