Too Elusive to Catch
Nothing about you is clear, not a single thing makes sense to me anymore.
No contact, so I believe what I like. You speak the words that infect my brain –
somewhere inside I feel the difference, something you do drives right through
to my heart. Can’t escape the aura you possess.
These actions leave doubts plastered all over my mind, I’m not stupid enough
to entrust you with my deepest words; your mismatched moods to nothing to
reassure me either. Won’t face the facts that hover over your head: all the others
may think they know you, but I read the truth from what your body says, that golden
gaze breathes warmth into my heaving chest.
Just the thought of us entwined, sets the fireworks alight inside; but I don’t think
you really want me. I still see all the mistakes you make. Too long will pass before you
realise it’s me. How long will it take before you fall and break? This beat pounds a
little harder,
then the next day your blank canvas reappears. Don’t you feel what I’m feeling?
Let me not see you any longer, let my mind not be immersed with you beautiful
image – can’t take everything you don’t return. I will run so very far not to feel,
not to know the sound of your sweet accent any longer, not to wait for you in
wonder.
