Here and Now
Your arms finally embrace me.
Seeing you face to face, now seems so surreal.
Alone together; as midnight blankets the skies;
each star burns bright with every touch.
Oh, dear God, please don’t let this night end.
Praying to be trapped in time, forever in a lover’s embrace.
Stolen kisses; hands entwined; your body pressed against mine.
Savoring this moment, I trace my fingers over every line,
keeping you locked in my memory.
Your touch consumes me, sends shivers through me,
goose bumps grace my skin. Oh, how I longed for this moment.
Forgetting the past, not worrying about the future, only focusing on now.
Your lips is fire, I melt in them…
We kiss, for what seems like centuries.
I lay my head against your chest and
fall asleep to the sound of your heartbeat.
My only regret is of those three unspoken words, I was too afraid to say “I love you” face to face…
yet in that moment words weren’t needed,
for you and I became one now and forever.
