Violet

I drink the rain when I'm cold
We're not that far from the core
We don't look like we did before
Back when I could act bold

I can't argue with a stone wall
And I can barely hold on, dear
I'm far when I should be here
And no, you can't have it all

Violet, close your eyes and just turn the lights off and dream
Let the bad things go back to where they've been
Cause the snow won't fade from here to there
The snow won't fade from here

Violet, all your fears float adrift in the lonely frosty sea
Don't let the bad things take their place and die there
Headlights glare, but I know I will not let you go again
But I won't let you go again

Our favorite song is getting old
Why do the things we must?
Oh if you could turn me into dusk
And I could turn dusk into gold

Heartbeats are loud as hell
Stay for as long as you want
Heartbeats like ringing bells
And the sirens won't flaunt

Your departure left a trace
And a sad burning blaze
But now you sing the greys
And choose the long ways
