It is better this way.

It will be easy they said, “easy,”
Just like flicking a switch
And all your feelings will be dead,
Providing I go for the premium rate.

I found them on an ad,
‘Got problems? Buy them away!’
My answer had finally come,
Yeah I had problems I wanted them to take.

My name became top of the list,
The doctor would see me now,
“Good day, what can I do for you?”
“Can you really take them out?”

I signed along the dotted line,
Would I mind if they went wrong?
Take my life instead?
Then by all means we’ll even provide the pen.

So I sit here on the surgery bed,
My arms and legs, limbs alike, cuffed to keep me still
It will only hurt a little bit,
Brain surgery after all will take some concentration.

“You shan’t be under,
Here’s the axe,
We lied to you
You’ll feel it all.”

“I don’t care,
I need them out,
I signed on the line,
So go ahead.”

***
"Who are you?
Have we met?
I don’t recall…"
It is better this way don’t you think?
