Embraced By Moonlight
She goes so far,
Just to get away.
She's my scar,
What's left of yesterday.
Why does she run?
Why do I hide?
She's my gun,
And the bullet inside.
It hurts her heart,
To say she's not broken.
I fall apart.
What is unspoken?
His pace is too fast;
She falls behin'.
He eats from her past.
She says she's fine.
She goes so far,
Just to get away.
She's my scar,
What's left of yesterday.
I want to hold her tight,
But she runs away.
Tell her it's alright.
What's left to say?
Her face seeps tears.
Pale, drained of color.
I want to kill her fears,
And soothe her.
Where does she go,
On those lonely nights?
What is the snow,
If not for fright?
She goes so far,
Just to get away.
She's my scar,
What's left of yesterday.
Why can't I cry?
Is this a disease?
Why does she die,
As he pleases?
I fear her cold hands.
The absence of light,
In her eyes, buried by land.
Embraced by moonlight.
She's gone so far,
But didn't want to go away.
She's my invisible scar,
It disappeared yesterday.
Just to get away.
She's my scar,
What's left of yesterday.
Why does she run?
Why do I hide?
She's my gun,
And the bullet inside.
It hurts her heart,
To say she's not broken.
I fall apart.
