The Last
Eyelids close.
Darkness surrounds.
A cold winter chill
Courses through
My spine.
Small white flakes
Land in long hair,
Then melt
Among the warmth.
Eyes of green
Glisten beneath
A starry evening sky.
They move closer
Then disappear,
As heat wraps
Around my waist
And dances
Across my lips.
The love surrounds me
Then leaves,
Slipping through
My cold fingers.
Little did I know
It was the last,
The last moment
And the beginning
Of a haunting
Memory.
Darkness surrounds.
A cold winter chill
Courses through
My spine.
Small white flakes
Land in long hair,
Then melt
Among the warmth.
Eyes of green
Glisten beneath
A starry evening sky.
They move closer
Then disappear,
As heat wraps
Around my waist
And dances
Across my lips.
The love surrounds me
Then leaves,
Slipping through
My cold fingers.
Little did I know
It was the last,
The last moment
And the beginning
Of a haunting
Memory.
