Landmine Lullaby

We stepped on a landmine
Forced to say your last words
Hereby a letter is forgotten
And a good deed ain't done
Bottle ends dry in smoke
A kid who won't know the world
A clueless kid, a happy kid

The gist in knowing no words
Illustrated from a bellwether
Freaked out but not done yet
Still got a few things to hide
Voices or silence, I don't know

Landmine lullabies
Soothe my blinking eyes
I plead myself wrong
This is not where I belong

I thought we were clear
That you'd not be here

Got a dry lake by my side
Suspect burning and boldly aging
Poor as a waterless plant
Discharges repent out by now
Wrongdoing and sinful jokes
A kid who won't know the world
A clueless kid, a happy kid

Yet my slow turning turbines
Freezes the air that passes by
I will one day, but not today
Still got a few things to hide
Voices or silence, I don't know

Landmine lullabies
Soothe my blinking eyes
I plead myself wrong
This is not where I belong

I thought we were clear
That you'd not be here
