Maw Of Darkness

I try to imagine what's going on inside his head and I get a headache.
And I'm probably going crazy, I wake up wanting to die
Most days I wake up into the maw of darkness
And sometimes I just wake up in plain light
She wants me there but we both know I can't, not yet

I look at the starlights, but they don't seem to shine anymore
And I'm probably going crazy, I wake up wanting to live
Most nights I try to sleep deep in the maw of darkness
And sometimes I just don't sleep at all
If you leave me we both know how this is gonna end, not yet

I feel lucky for having unfinished business and unfinished love
Otherwise I just wouldn't want to get up
I'm addicted to a little painter and what she does for me is good
Sometimes I read out loud what I write from your silence

We're so focused on what happened that we don't care about what will happen
And in the end I just stood by the orchard, hoping someone somehow gave me a lift to you
We were living in the maw of darkness, but you could light anything and I will be there to see you shine
