MY MUSIC

MY MUSIC
I’ve always loved my music, since I was just a lad
Everything I listened to, was everything but bad

My drumming days had started, with wooden spoons to start
Big pan lids, and plastic bowls, I played right from the heart

Big band sound and skiffle groups, drumming was my thing
That’s when music won my heart, and I began to sing

The sixties music had me, no matter what the song
Those lyrics and arrangements, I studied all day long

Understanding music, is more than reading dots
You have to feel the tempo, then practice lots and lots

I played in rock and roll bands, and tried some blues as well
Motown soul and country, R&B and some gos..pel

Musicians they are everywhere, no matter where you are
Just find some unused instruments, some drums and a guitar

Singers too will soon join in, whenever music plays
From amateurs to superstars, they really do amaze

There’s something about those trumpets, how beautiful they sound
Accompanied by strings and brass, and timbales all around

Music brings us pleasure, and it’s used the whole world through
Music speaks a language that is, wonderful and true

Lovers singing love songs, opera tells the tale
Soprano is the female pitch, and baritone the male

Whatever I am listening to, music is my thing
There’s something quite exciting, in some jazz that has a swing

So if you like your music, and love it like I do
Remember all musicians are, just folk like me and you
