from Love to Letting Go
Love= Freedom, Trust, Respect, and Admiration. When you love someone you give them all of this. When someone loves you, they give you all of this. If any of this is not present then love is not present.
The idea of love, the history of love being present is not equal to ‘giving love’. Giving is now and continues to be now when now is constantly changing. If any aspect of ‘Love” changes with every “now” then true love is not present.
True love is a promise made in the heart – silent, unwritten, unbreakable by distance, and unchangeable by ‘now’. Don’t listen to what people say; watch what they do. If words and actions together are not consistent with “love” then love is not present.
Love means giving someone the chance to hurt you, but trusting them not to. If you’re hurting and Freedom, Trust, Respect, or Admiration is missing, then Love is not present.
When you love someone you surrender pieces of your soul to that person. Surrendering means you don’t get it back. It is theirs no matter what happens to the love. If you feel a sense of disconnection because they have that piece, then love is not present.
When love is not present then letting go is necessary. If feels difficult, it feels painful, but it is easier then hanging on to someone where love is not present.
Letting go quietly, gently, and with the acceptance that the time where love was present was a very special and amazing time that should be kept and cherished, will allow the soul to heal over the piece you gave away. Know that the person you gave it to was worth it, no matter how it ended, you grew, you experienced Love and you had a memorable and irreplaceable moment that you will carry through life with fond memories if you choose to keep those memories stronger than the unpleasantness of discover when love was not present.
