Solder Of Anger

(this was a poem I found in my attic a few weeks ago, I wrote it when I was around 13 and I just thought I would tweak it up to make it a bit better and see what you all think of it :) )

Once upon a time,
The witches clock struck nine,
she grabbed her broom,
and left her room to seek mischief on the town.

as she flew into the darkened sky,
She spread plague and thunder,
she sat there with her laugh so high,
she just peered down to watch the town folk die.

But there was one brave farmer,
he stood there and held his pitch-fork high,
He tossed it in the air,
Now the crooked Witch can no longer fly.

She fell down to the old cobbled floor,
She choked and under her breath she swore,
The town folk crowded around the thing they use to fear,
but suddenly a white light shoots up and everyone's sight is left unclear.

But once again they can see the road,
but the witch is no longer there,
he turned to his farm way up high,
but something strange caught his eye.

The family he so loved were gone,
But to get them back he swore he would travel to and from,
The town covered him in armor and handed him a sword,
they drew him on a cross and made him blessed my the lord.

He set off on his travels to the witches cave,
The townsfolk see him off and to their hero they wave,
in only days rumors spread,
that their beloved hero is now dead.

But this was not the case,
He climbed the mountain with a scar-covered face,
He gets to the top and see's the cave,
But closer up it looks more like a grave.

All he could smell is blood and guts,
but he does not fear,
Get to his family he must,
So he marches through the entrance with his sword held high.

As he walks he begins to see a light,
he stops still as a chill runs down his spine,
but he held his head up as he prepared for the fight,
Then there she was.

The witch just through the archway,
Eyes piercing like blades,
he gets ready to run,
but the feeling in his legs just fades.

He was sinking in quicksand,
he could not move,
but deep inside,
he knew what to do.

He put his sword to the sky,
and screamed "Today the witch dies"
He swung his sword and the air went crack,
as he glanced forward he could see the sword was in her back.

He struggled out and glanced to the right,
and he could not believe what was in sight,
his wife laying there on the floor dead,
he picked her up and placed her on the bed.

For one last time, he raises his sword to the sky,
and yells "tonight everyone must die"

He storms to the town with anger in his eyes,
he slays them down and leaves them for the flys,
Chop, Chop, Chop,
Slice, Slice, Slice

Then he drops to his knees,
looks at what he has done,
he wished for the life he had,
When he was still a little farmer boy.

Because he became the very thing he swore to destroy.
