the past couple weeks
I could have done without
but the sight of you
undressing in the candlelight
made me forget
all that was said
you have me wrapped
around you
on you
and in you
all this time together
you still make nervous
the knot in my stomach
still tightens
when you give me that smile
when you beckon me
to follow

the look on your face
that said
you needed me
not just wanted me
I have missed
falling asleep with the
feel of you against me
the small sigh of content
as I slide in behind you
to hold you close
the way you push me out of bed
as the alarm sounds
the sleepy "I love you"
follows me out the door
